Where files come from:
Files already in your FileShot inbox. Paste-a-YouTube-URL is Video Downloader.
Need to share the file securely afterward? FileShot encrypts uploads in your browser before they leave your device.
Someone already sent a file to your FileShot inbox. This page opens that file and lets you convert and re-share it.
Open inbox lists what is there. Convert and share writes a new zip and a FileShot link.
If the inbox has no file yet, the page says Inbox empty. That is the product.
How Inbox Tools works
Open a file that already arrived in your FileShot inbox. Convert it if you need a different format, then share the result with a FileShot link. Your FileShot inbox hostname does not change. This page is a tool surface on top of that inbox, not a second inbox product.
Someone must have sent a file to your inbox first. If the inbox is empty, the page says Inbox empty. That message is the product. FileShot will not invent a demo file.
Do not paste a YouTube URL here. Inbox Tools is for a file that already sits in your FileShot inbox. Watch pages belong on Video Downloader. Locker pastes belong on Host Fetch.
People already send files to your FileShot inbox hostname. Inbox Tools is for the next step: open that file, convert if the job needs it, and share a result. If your workflow is only wait for a file and download it, the inbox itself is enough. Use this page when convert-and-share is the reason you opened a tool.
Empty inbox is the honest state after a new account, after expiry, and after you already cleared the file. FileShot will not plant a sample PDF so the screen looks busy. Send a test file to your own inbox if you need to confirm the path.
Conversion follows FileShot converter rules for that file type. A zip in the inbox is still a zip until convert runs. A video file in the inbox is still that file. This page does not become Video Downloader because the inbox file happens to be an MP4.
If convert fails, the inbox file can still be downloaded unchanged. Conversion is extra. An empty convert result is not a reason to hide the original inbox file. Open inbox again and save the original if you only needed the bytes.
Mailbox filters on your FileShot inbox hostname are unchanged. Inbox Tools does not add a second address. Tell senders the same hostname they already use. This page only opens what arrived.
Virus scanning on inbox files follows FileShot inbox rules, not this HTML page. If FileShot blocked a payload in the inbox, Inbox Tools cannot open a file that never arrived. Check the inbox itself for that block.
Inbox privacy
The inbox is your FileShot inbox. Files there follow FileShot inbox retention for your plan. Pro can keep inbox files longer. Converted output that you share uses FileShot encrypted sharing.
Sign in as the account that owns the inbox. Another person’s inbox is not listed here. FileShot does not show you a global inbox of the site.
What this page opens
Inbox Tools works on files that are already in your FileShot inbox:
- Latest inbox file — Open inbox lists the latest file waiting in your inbox.
- Convert — Convert and share writes a new pack when conversion is part of the job.
- Share link — You get a FileShot link for the result, not a public FileShot homepage feature.
- Empty state — Inbox empty means nothing is there yet. Send a file to your inbox hostname first.
- Not YouTube — A watch URL does not land in this inbox unless someone uploaded a file.
- Not Mega paste — Paste locker URLs on Host Fetch, then you can send the saved file to a FileShot inbox if you want.
- Retention — Inbox files expire on plan rules. Open them before they drop.
- Sign-in — The tool needs the account that owns the inbox.
- One file at a time — The surface opens the current inbox file. It is not a batch YouTube list.
- Original inbox — The hostname people already use to send you files stays the same.
Guides
FileShot surfaces next to the inbox:
- FileShot inbox — the inbox itself
- File Converter — convert a file you already downloaded
- Save and Share — zip a public page and mint a link
- Creator Drop — a file you bought from a FileShot creator
- Team Drop — a shared encrypted folder
- FileShot upload — send a file into FileShot sharing yourself
Frequently Asked Questions
I already have an inbox. What is this page?
It is a tool view for a file that is already in that inbox: open, convert, share. It does not replace the inbox hostname.
Why does it say Inbox empty?
No file is waiting in that account’s inbox. Have someone send a file to your FileShot inbox, then click Open inbox again.
Can I paste a website URL?
No. This page does not list files on a website. Use Page File Downloader for that.
Do I need Pro?
Inbox retention and convert limits follow your plan. Pro keeps inbox files longer. Free still opens a file that is actually there.
Is the converted file encrypted when I share it?
A FileShot share uses FileShot encrypted sharing. Send the key with the link.
Can I open someone else’s inbox?
No. Sign in as the owner. FileShot does not list other accounts’ inboxes on this page.
