The FileShot browser extension adds a convenient "Upload to FileShot" option to your right-click context menu and browser toolbar. Instead of navigating to fileshot.io in a new tab, you can share any file or image directly from the page you are already on. The extension handles AES-256-GCM encryption, link generation, and clipboard copying in a single action.
All uploads made through the extension are encrypted with the same zero-knowledge standard used on the main website. Your files are never transmitted to our servers in plaintext, and encryption keys are generated locally in your browser. The extension supports custom expiration times, password protection, and optional metadata stripping before upload.
Context Menu Integration
Right-click any image to upload it to FileShot, select text to create an encrypted paste, or share files from download links — all without leaving the page you are browsing. The extension handles encryption automatically, generating secure sharing links that you can copy to your clipboard or send through email and messaging apps.
Lightweight and Privacy-First
The FileShot extension requires only the permissions necessary for upload functionality. It does not inject scripts into web pages, does not track your browsing history, and does not collect personal data. All file encryption happens locally within the extension before any data is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
