FileShot extension for page media on any tab

Skip copy-paste when a page is full of media. The FileShot extension scans the open tab for images and videos, then lets you download everything to your computer or upload to FileShot for an instant shareable link — encrypted, with optional expiry.

Documents, not videos

The list is PDFs and office files. A watch page still belongs on Video Downloader.

One zip

How Document Pack works

Paste a page that links documents. FileShot lists PDFs, Word files, Excel sheets, PowerPoint decks, text, CSV, and similar files, then zips the ones you tick. The list is documents. A video on the same page still belongs on Video Downloader. Pictures-only albums belong on Gallery Pack.

Research indexes, government notice pages, university handouts, and product spec pages often link several PDFs from one HTML document. Document Pack is built for that job. You tick the reports you need and save one zip instead of clicking every PDF by hand.

Embedded Google Docs that only live as a Drive viewer still belong on Host Fetch when you have a Drive file link. This page reads the HTML you pasted and lists file addresses on that HTML.

University and government pages often mix a viewer iframe with a small Download PDF link. Document Pack lists file addresses in the HTML. An iframe viewer without a file URL will not appear as a PDF row. Click through on the original site until a link is a real PDF, then paste that page, or use Direct File Downloader on the PDF URL.

Spreadsheets linked as Google Sheets URLs are not XLSX files unless the page also links an export. Host Fetch can retrieve a public Drive file. Document Pack will not turn a Sheets viewer into an Excel workbook by itself.

Form-style PDFs that need to be filled stay PDFs in the zip. Open them in FileShot PDF tools or in a desktop editor after Download file. Document Pack does not fill fields, flatten signatures, or redact. It only packs the files the page linked.

When a site lists fifty notices and you only need this week three PDFs, untick the rest before you zip. That keeps the pack under plan caps and keeps the zip readable. Pro raises the cap when a full docket is the job.

ZIP files of documents on the same page still belong on Page File Downloader if you also want pictures. Document Pack is the document-only list so the zip is not full of logos. Use the mixed tool when the page is mixed on purpose.

Accessibility copies (large print PDF, tagged PDF) are separate files when the page linked them. Tick the copy you need. Document Pack does not generate a tagged PDF from a scan. It only packs what the page already offered as a file.

Keep the original site URL in your notes if you may need an errata page later. The zip is a snapshot of the files FileShot listed at paste time, not a live folder that updates when the agency replaces a PDF.

Some sites link the same PDF twice: once in the nav, once in the body. You will see duplicate rows. Untick one. Document Pack does not dedupe by checksum on this page. It lists every file address it found.

Privacy on document zips

FileShot fetches the public page to find document addresses. The zip is for your session. FileShot does not publish your reading list.

Only pack documents you are allowed to keep. A public PDF is still under the author’s copyright. FileShot is the zip tool, not a license.

What gets listed

Document Pack looks for document files on the pasted page:

  • PDF — The common public report and form format.
  • Word — DOC and DOCX when the page linked those files.
  • Excel — XLS and XLSX spreadsheets linked as files.
  • PowerPoint — PPT and PPTX decks linked as files.
  • Text and CSV — Plain text and tables when they are file links, not only HTML tables.
  • RTF and ODT — Listed when the page linked those office files.
  • Not images — Use Gallery Pack for albums.
  • Not video — Use Video Downloader for players.
  • Drive viewers — A Google Drive file URL belongs on Host Fetch.
  • Scan-heavy PDFs — The zip stores the PDF the site linked. FileShot does not OCR the scans on this page.

Guides

Document jobs around FileShot:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Document Pack fill PDF forms?

No. It zips the files the page linked. Use the FileShot PDF tool to work on a PDF after it lands.

Can I paste a Google Drive folder?

Use Host Fetch for Drive file links. A Drive folder index is not this page’s HTML listing.

Why did a PDF become a tiny HTML file?

The site sent a viewer page instead of the PDF bytes. Find a direct PDF URL or use Host Fetch when the file lives on Drive or a locker.

Are scanned papers searchable?

Only if the PDF the site linked already has a text layer. Document Pack does not run OCR.

Can I pick three PDFs out of twenty?

Yes. Untick the rest.

What is the zip size cap?

Document zips follow FileShot plan caps. Pro raises the cap.
