HEIC to JPG
iPhone and iPad photos often arrive as HEIC (Apple's High Efficiency Image Format). FileShot's converter accepts HEIF/HEIC and outputs JPG, PNG, or WEBP — no extra app required.

Convert photos straight from your camera roll without installing desktop software.
Export as JPG for universal compatibility, PNG for transparency, or WEBP for the web.
Files are processed securely and removed after conversion completes.
What is HEIC?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on modern iPhones and iPads. It stores images at roughly half the file size of JPEG with similar visual quality. The trade-off is that many Windows apps, older websites, and email clients do not open HEIC files natively.
FileShot's File Converter decodes HEIC/HEIF and re-encodes to JPG or other common formats so you can attach photos to emails, upload to social media, or share with anyone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
Apple switched to HEIC to save storage space on device. You can change this in Settings → Camera → Formats, but converting existing HEIC files is often faster than re-shooting.
Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of compression may occur when exporting. For archival or editing, choose PNG output in the converter. For email and web sharing, JPG at default quality is usually indistinguishable from the original.
Are my photos kept private?
Converted files are not stored long-term on our servers. Processing happens in a secure pipeline and outputs are deleted after delivery, consistent with other FileShot tools.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Yes — the File Converter supports batch uploads. Select several HEIC files and choose JPG as the target format for each.
Will the JPG be smaller than the HEIC?
Often yes, but JPG and HEIC use different compression. If the JPG is larger, try WEBP output or run the result through our compressor.
